Review - ¡Qué injusticia!
Author: Thania Vega.
Language: Spanish
Few times in life, reality overcomes fiction. The story that Thania Vega tells in her book “!que Injusticia!” reminds us that suffering and pain don’t belong just to fictitious stories destined to great literature books or memorable Hollywood plays. Evil is real, touchable and its action shakes families, as if it was wishing to slowly torture their hearts. This is the story that Thania Vega (@thaniavega1) writes, a real life story, about the dark episodes that seek to darken even more the events of recent Colombian history: The siege of the Justice Palace by the armed gang M 19 and its rescue by the hand of the state forces.
The fact that your political position impacts on the way you evaluate the term “injustice” says a lot on the media usage of this case. However, it doesn’t matter what your ideas on politics are, after reading this book you can conclude a couple of things: The first one is that there is a family from Bogota that is suffering unmesurable pain. The second one is that they have faced the defense of Colonel Plazas with courage and honesty, this means, that they are willing to give their lives if they have to, to prove the innocence of the Colonel; the third one, that there is a lot of anomalies within the legal process that is carried out against this Colombian Soldier.
This story shows clearly all the personal suffering of a family that can’t trust the impartiality of the judicial Colombian system. This is written by a woman who writes as the last resort against an uneven battle against the press, judicial system and Colombian oblivion. However what you read on “!que injusticia!” is neither a political compound, nor an attempt to play the victim role in a story where they can easily claim that title; this, on the contrary, is a story of courage, honor and legality.
This book is a must have in order to understand the recent story of Colombia, the untold truth that claims silent victims on a war that is carried out without bullets or grenades, it takes place in silence behind a desk, where the enemy becomes some kind of dark black hand hard to identify, capable of anything to achieve its dark purposes.
